Here is one of Uncle Ron and Dad when he got sick. Boy, was he ever happy to have visitors!

Maybe I am just a little depressed, just thinking about this, but it is weird how I remember Dad saying to me one day how he knew he must be dying because everyone was coming to say goodbye.I was forcing back tears and there he was was smiling at me, happy as a clam. Telling me about how happy he was to see everyone... and then something about Joe and a wooden butler, which I don't think I will ever figure out...but was he ever happy at that time. It was very weird.

Oh, like a CRAFT project..wooden butler...lol. OK, that makes sense! Now I wonder what else Dad said when he was sick that didn't seem to make any sense at the time so we just thought it was the cancer talking when, actually it made perfect sense?

You know, I was really happy that Dad took up a hobby when he started wood working because he didn't really do much besides work. But at the same time I was worried that he wouldn't be able to keep all fingers intact.

One night he came home with his shirt & pants covered in blood and Mom almost fainted. He was doing something in the wood shop at one of the schools and someone was doing the cutting with two friends holding the project, and I don't know who was doing what, but it ended up that someone lost the tip of their finger and Dad drove him to the hospital. I noticed he didn't do so much after that. Or, like I told Mom, he probably did as much but just didn't talk about it at home so much cause we were sure he would be next.
