Daisy girl got herself into a hot mess again. She cracked her tail on something and bled everywhere. A month later and I am still finding red spots around the house that I missed/hadn't noticed yet. We took her to the vet because it wasn't healing and got tail splints. She kept pulling them off. I think there is one laying in my driveway as I type this. So back to the vet and now we have a really huge cone. This is our last attempt at saving the tail. If we can't heal it, they will have to cut the end off a few inches. Oh joy.
Besides that she has an ear infection and some sort of autoimmune disease, long story short, the tip of one ear turned black and is now crusting over and falling off. The good news is that it is pink skin underneath, so maybe there is hope yet. Maybe we will see some new hair growth if we are lucky.
We are a real healthy bunch this year. I put my back out (for the first time ever) and have been pretty much sitting around for two months now. I am almost back to normal but I am afraid to start gardening because I don't want to set it off again. Oh well. Guess I gotta start sometime.
Paul has been very happy to start golfing again. He's been taking the dog for long walks and I have been staying home nursing my back.
I bought my first electric blanket on sale. If you have sore legs/back there is nothing like an electric blanket all toasty and cozy. I think tonight we will open the bedroom window, just so we can use the blanket...haha. Someone else likes it as much as I do, and that is not Daisy. She gets way too hot and has to go to her bed before the lights are off.
I also got a new Sony e-Reader for v-day which I have been enjoying to the max. Thanks Paul! If you have to lay down for hours at a time, great to have tons to read.
Time to go pack...off to Houston again soon.

Jen, I hope both you & Daisy are well on your way back to good health. Having an injured back is no picnic. Thank goodness for the ebooks...nothing too heavy to hold while you try and get comfortable.
Love the update...keep them coming!
